Frank Stencil

Progression and evolution are two very different forms of growth that I have been rising to recently. Over the last month, I have been indulging and enjoying different styles of creation.

Like a carving, I cut out what isn’t needed.

Shredded and sliced I watch snowfall like paper shreds on the floor.

Falling in love and fumbling into frustration,

I let my hands flutter and dance around the drawing table

I’ve had this project planned for a few months and I can’t express how surprised I am looking back at the footage of my progress. Every time the video changes angles, or I’m wearing a different hoodie, it’s a completely different session of me working. I took about 4 to 5 hours of carving in each session and to my surprise I have put over 40 hours into the stencil side of this project! It shocks me because looking back it feels like no time at all. One sunny day near the end of November I bundled up, peeled the stencil from the drawing table, and got funky with some new colours. I spray painted my stencil with rose gold and was very pleased with the results.

I’m really excited to share the outcome of my first stencil with you. While this is one of many I have planned, I am releasing these unnamed pieces in a series of 4.
